Column will chronicle reader's weight loss efforts Marietta Times
My name is Casi Stewart. Although I'm classified as being "morbidly obese," it does not define me by my personality, spirituality or my character. Some people think that "fat" people are "lazy." On the contrary, one can be "heavy" or "fat" and still be either active or healthy. I say "healthy" loosely. I, however, am not healthy but somewhat active. I volunteer at Marietta Memorial Hospital and am active in church. I wish and will succeed in my desire to return to the Betsey for use of warm water exercise and to return to the YMCA. I do, however, have numerous health conditions from severe arthritis to sleep apnea, which in a way temporarily excludes me from totally accomplishing some of my goals. However, I do use excuses and that will come to an end for I am willing and eager to begin a new chapter in my life of pursuing a healthy lifestyle.
Of course, I didn't get this way overnight, nor will I lose it overnight. This will be a journey of ups and downs. I am willing and eager to share this story of triumphs and tribulations with the Mid-Ohio Valley. Obesity is quite prevalent not only in this area but in the United States as well. I feel it is highly important to share a candid look into the realm of permanent weight loss.
