Kristoff St. John (Neil, 'The Young and the Restless') had a diet-related question. Kristoff recently began a diet that touts the intake of higher alkaline foods and wondered if it was possible to have too much alkaline in the diet.With help from an audience member, Dr. Oz presented a table full of foods to show which were either alkaline or acid and stated that, almost without fail, alkaline foods are whole foods that are good for you, such as spinach and broccoli. Do these foods actually change the bodies pH, however? Well, Dr. Oz states that the body does a fine job of keeping our bodies at the proper pH, and while these foods may change our body chemistry to some degree, it is not able to be measured by modern medicine.
